Happy New Year!

I hope 2011 is happy and prosperous for all of my friends, family, and followers (hi Star!).

This year I am going to try to post at least once a week, even if just to say I don't have anything to say.

I'm sitting at my craft table,  trying to get my thank you cards made.  Of course I'm missing ONE tool, a stupid piece of sponge, to make the cards I envision so I'll have to hit Michaels on Friday so I can work on them.  At least that means I have a plan for New Year's Eve!

Here are a couple more cards I made for Christmas:

And a few of the snowman tags I made for the gifts.  There were a lot more of them, I just forgot to take the picture before I had the majority of them on gifts!

For Christmas my darling daughter and son-in-law gave me a pressure cooker!  Those of you who know me are well aware that I DON'T cook, so everyone was surprised when I asked for a pressure cooker.  I love this thing!!  Sunday night I tested the pc with just water so I could see what happens when it's at pressure and that sort of thing.  Monday I made pork chops with potatos, and Tuesday I made chicken with rice!  Both meals turned out well, I am quite proud of myself.  LOL!  I'll have to plan something wonderful for when my husband gets back from Texas.

That's it for now, time to read for a while before going to bed.

Currently reading Two Rivers by T. Greenwood.  I'm 42% through the book, it's going pretty quickly.

Early Christmas gift

Look what Santa brought me (a little early)!!

A Vagabond die cutter by Tim Holtz/Sizzix!  WOO HOO!!  Between this and my Silhouette SD I'm set for cutters for a long while.  Santa also got me a die for the Vagabond, I'll be adding to that collection very soon.

I'm off work now until the 29th, except for promising to go in Monday morning to do payroll, and it feels GOOD!  So guess how late I slept in today?  Yes indeed, 4AM.  Sigh.  I need to stay up a bit later tonight or I'll be falling asleep at the Christmas Eve family gathering!

Since I'm up so early I'll get a few cards done, I hope.  I'll post them after the holiday, just in case the recipient finds this blog.

Later!!

Like we needed more snow!

After "Snowmageddon" I could have gone the rest of the winter without seeing more snow.  So, a week and a half later we get another 5-or-so inches.  Doesn't sound like much, but added to the previous 17+ it's MORE than enough.  Heres the proof!

This is the shed in our back yard.  A family of rabbits lives under the shed, after the storm they had to dig their way out...

(back of the shed, the big lump of snow is my convertible!)
and here's where they finally ended up getting out
See the hole by the front tire?  Here's a close up (I put some cat food in the hole for them... I don't think my husband would be thrilled by that).

This is the fence between us and our neighbor.

Seriously.  Enough snow.  No more, please.

On another note, this is a card I made for an aunt and uncle whose cat died.  They used to have a number of cats, this was the last one.  He was 20 years old.  Having lost fur-children before I know how much they are hurting.  Anyway... here's the card.

That's all for now!

Doing what I'm told

My daughter tells me it's not enough to just HAVE a blog, I must occasionally POST to it as well. So here goes!

The Christmas season snuck up on me, again. Somehow that happens every year! This year is different in that I started making cards (and some scrapbooking) in February, so I wanted to make some to send out to friends and family. They're going to be late, but I'm happy with them!

Here it is, my very first Christmas card:

I used a Stampendous stamp for the house, Hero Arts stamp for the sentiment. Colored with Copic markers and highlighted with Stickles.

Some lucky person is getting this one:

These are digi stamps, birds and words by Doodle Pantry.  Colored with Copics again, Stickles on the greenery and glitter pen outlining the birds.  The cardstock is shimmery and I used an embossing folder for the musical notes.

And I'll be making a few more in the next week,  Thank goodness those will be handed out, no worrying about snail mail!

I also make jewelry, here is a birthstone (March) pendant that was ordered as a Christmas gift.  I finished it tonight and will deliver it tomorrow:
I hope the giftee likes it!
